Parent & Family Engagement at Westside Montessori
Rooted in Community. Strengthened by Participation.
As a parent co-op school, Westside Montessori School is built on the belief that families play an essential role in their children’s educational experience. Our cooperative model encourages parents and caregivers to actively participate in school life, fostering meaningful connections between home, classroom, and community.
Family involvement is an important part of what makes Westside Montessori special. Through participation in school activities, events, committees, and campus improvement initiatives, our families contribute their time, talents, and resources to support our students, teachers, and school community.
To sustain this collaborative environment, we encourage each family to contribute at least 20 service hours between August and June or donate the equivalent service-hour rate. Every contribution helps strengthen our programs, enrich the learning environment, and support the continued success of our school.
OPT-IN (Organization of Parent-Teacher Initiative Network)
Through Westside Montessori School’s OPT-IN network, families can contribute their time, talents, and skills in ways that strengthen our parent co-op community. From classroom activities and campus improvements to schoolwide events, every contribution helps create a vibrant and supportive learning environment.

As part of our parent co-op community, families can use this platform to stay engaged, contribute to school activities, and support the programs and events that make WMS special. Track-It-Forward also simplifies communication, reduces paperwork, and supports corporate matching contributions.
Watch the video with Dr. David to learn more about the platform, then explore the available opportunities below.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning a cultural presentation that includes digital content, please send your files to the classroom teacher at least one week before your scheduled presentation so they can review the materials and provide feedback to ensure the content is appropriate.
Donate Flowers for Student Arranging
Sign up to bring fresh flowers to our classrooms. All levels enjoy having fresh flowers for students to do flower arranging as part of their practical life work, to study parts and functions of the flower in life science, and as a beautiful addition to the prepared environment.
Please bring the flowers to the front office anytime between 8:00-9:00 a.m. on the Monday you have signed up. We need 30-40 flowers (stems); any type that isn’t too fragrant and does not have thorns is a great choice. Some examples include carnations, daisies, and alstromeria.
Thank you for supporting our classrooms!
