Westside Montessori School Uniforms must be worn beginning the first day of school. We encourage parents to order uniforms as soon as possible to assure receipt of items before school begins.

Pre-owned uniforms, donated by former students, are on sale at WMS year-round at reduced prices. Uniforms may be purchased Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Parents may pay by cash or check at the front desk.

Uniforms are standard attire throughout the year for all Primary and Elementary students. Free dress is permitted during the summer months.

For safety reasons, Westside requires all students to wear closed-toe shoes. Please, no plastic shoes, Crocs, or cowboy boots. Leather or tennis shoes in brown, black, navy or white are appropriate. Shoes must be predominantly one solid color with a minimum of added decoration.

All students are required to purchase and use a medium-sized WMS tote bag, which can only be purchased from Lands End. Backpacks and other large bags are not allowed due to space limitations.

Elementary students are required to bring attire for gym class every Tuesday and Thursday. Gym attire includes the WMS polo shirt (or spirit t-shirt) and gym shorts in WMS navy blue. Gym shorts may be purchased through Lands End.

Polo shirts are required to be monogrammed.

Please Note: Westside receives a 3% rebate of the sales price of uniforms purchased from Land’s End.

During carpool line, it is best for parents to remain in their car until a Westside Montessori staff member is able to escort your child(ren) into the school.

Parents who drop their child off after carpool is over must park in the parking lot and walk with their child into the school. There is no parking allowed in the carpool lane. Children arriving late must be signed in by their parent at the front desk and a staff member will escort the child to their class. Older children may walk to class on their own.

Only students who are registered for the Full Day Program (7:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.) are allowed into the school early (7:00–8:30 a.m.) Before school care (Home Environment) can only accept students who are registered for early arrival. The teachers are not available to receive children in their classrooms until the designated arrival times mentioned above. The Westside Montessori staff would appreciate parents’ cooperation in this matter. If the need arises and you need to extend your child’s day at school, parents must first contact the school office. Arrangements will be made based on the availability of space in Home Environment.

Each carpool student will be issued a carpool sign with their name upon enrollment. Please display the sign in your front car window all year when picking up your child during carpool. Children will be dismissed beginning under the second carport in front of Building A. If you are first to arrive for carpool dismissal, please pull all the way up to the far edge of the second carport.

Parents will be charged a fee of $5.00 for every 15 minutes past the designated pickup time (late fee) and $5.00 for every 15 minutes before the designated arrival time (early drop off).

Not directly, however, WMS is partnered with The Simply Fresh Kitchen to offer lunches priced per meal available five days per week during the school year at an additional cost. All payments and orders are made directly to The Simply Fresh Kitchen. Menus are emailed monthly and are available at the front office. Additionally, parents may choose to bring lunch from home. For more information, please contact wms@westsidemontessori.com.

Westside Montessori School offers in-person and virtual tours for interested families. We offer in-person tours Monday through Friday between 9:00–11:30 a.m. Please call the school at 281.556.5970 to arrange a tour appointment. We ask that visitors be flexible in their request for a tour, as our first priority is always the care and comfort of our students.

WMS also holds several “Open House” events during the year. Please contact the school office to request notification and an invitation to our next event.

A deposit equal to one month’s tuition is assessed at the time of enrollment. This deposit is held on file in the child’s name until WMS receives a 30-day written Notice of Intent to Withdraw. This withdrawal notice must be received while the child is still enrolled in order for the tuition deposit to pay for the final month’s tuition.

There is a $200 registration fee for the academic year paid at the time of a child’s initial enrollment. A Re-registration fee of $150 is due in February of each year in order to hold an already enrolled student’s place in the classroom for the next academic year.

The Toddler Program $500 annual fee covers snacks and consumables supplies.

The Primary School $550 annual fee covers in-house performances, snacks, and consumable supplies.

The Elementary School $700 annual fee covers field-trips, books/technology and consumable supplies.

The Middle School $1,600 annual fee covers fall trips, book/technology, and consumable supplies.

Tuition and payments can be paid through the Praxi portal (parent online portal) using ACH or credit card. Another option is signing up for auto draft so the funds can be automatically withdrawn from your account. Checks can also be accepted at the front office. Any questions or concerns with tuition, fees, or payments can be directed to the Business Manager.

All documentation is needed prior to the student’s first day. If for any reason there is a delay, communication to the front office is necessary.

WMS is partnered with several different vendors that offer after school activities on our campus. All vendors are screened. Information for each program is available at the front office and on our website. All payments and registration is completed with the provider. Programs available vary by age.

Yes, however, there is a process that must be completed prior to acceptance of the change. A request form must be completed and submitted to the front office, where the request will be reviewed by the Head of School to ensure we have the capacity and staffing available to do so. If the request can not be approved at the time then the request will be internally waitlisted until there is a vacancy.
